You must have a gas-fitting practitioner licence to carry out gas-fitting work.
Gas-fitting work includes the design, installation, construction, testing, commissioning, decommissioning, conversion, modifications, relocation, repair, alterations, servicing or maintenance of gas installation or gas storage systems.

About renewing a gas-fitting practitioner licence

You cannot renew a licence which expired more than 60 days ago. You must submit a new application.

If your renewal is successful, you will get confirmation within 21 days.

What you need to renew

You must provide:

proof you have completed continuing professional development
answers to a set of declaration questions (with any supporting documents)
payment.

If your licence expired more than 3 years ago, you must provide your qualifications with your application. This is to re-assess your suitability to work in the industry since you were last licensed.

If you need a new photo to finalise your renewal, you must visit a service centre with proof of identity documents.

Can I renew?

You must:

be a fit and proper (PDF, 147KB) person
have the relevant qualifications, experience and competencies (at least a certificate 3 in gas-fitting, certificate 3 in plumbing or certificate 3 in mechanical services and certificate 4 competencies)
have completed the relevant training
have completed continuing professional development.
