Apply to register a tractor

• To register a farm tractor you must apply at a service centre with a completed application form (PDF, 61KB), proof of entitlement to register and proof of identity. An inspection is not required.
• A farm tractor registration is exempt from motor tax and duty. It is for tractors that are only used for farming and agricultural purposes.
• You must apply for a restricted use registration to register a tractor that is not used for farming or agricultural purposes.
